The success of the great champion AL GHADEER at only 5 years old in the highly coveted H.H. The Amir Sword, Group I for Arabian Thoroughbreds propels him to the status of legend. He is simply the best in the world, now holder of the Arabian Thoroughbred Triple Crown (Qatar International Stakes in August at Goodwood, Qatar Arabian World Cup in October at ParisLongchamp, and Amir Sword in Doha).
Under the ride of Christophe Soumillon, the François Rohaut-trained son of AL MOURTAJEZ achieved the remarkable feat of winning three consecutive Group I races over 1,600, 2,000, and 2,400 meters. On this distance he was discovering, he enters the pantheon of the greatest in his category (only Ebraz had achieved the feat in 2020), bringing this comment to his jockey:
"I am very happy for the entire team, and I want to thank François Rohaut for the excellent work he has done with 'Al Ghadeer.' Personally, I didn't feel any pressure. On the 1600m at Goodwood, I already knew he was the best Arabian Thoroughbred I had ridden in my entire career. Then, at Longchamp, he pulled a little, but he still won over 2000m. Today, admittedly, it was longer... But when horses are good, they're good no matter the conditions! And that's the case with him! It's magical to achieve my first Arabian Thoroughbred Triple Crown with him. I preserved him to the maximum in this race, and I hope we still have many great events to experience together!"
AL GHADEER's star sire AL MOURTAJEZ, himself a dual World Champion and dual Qatar World Cup winner, was also represented with AL DOHA who proved to be the best filly in the G1-PA HH the Amir Sword when a fast finishing third, her 4th Group I performance in a row.
